**Role Summary**:
Responsible for the facilitation of all processes relating to Family Law matters in accordance with
Service Level Agreements and Legislative requirements Maintaining current knowledge of the
legislation relevant to Superannuation such as Family Law, SIS and ITAA.
**In **this role, you will be responsible for**:
**Family Law Processing -**
- Interpret scheme legislation and policy guidelines (for all funds administered by Mercer) for legal implications that may arise from individual cases and refer for compliance and legal advice where appropriate.
- Facilitate Family Law processes within contractual Service Level Agreements and Legislative timeframes ensuring confidentiality and privacy is maintained.
- This includes quotes and calculations, RFI’s, reviewing and interpreting draft court orders, sealed court orders and financial agreements (Procedural Fairness) for correctness, drafting responses to more complex enquiries and complaints and processing payments as applicable.
- Maintaining relevant spreadsheet registers for all schemes to ensure the accurate, timely and safe storage of information.
- Review statements for members with Family Law splits (for all schemes) to ensure accuracy prior to mail out.
**Team Participation -**
- Peer reviewing and assisting with the quality assessment of all case types and complex correspondence for accuracy prior to issue.
- Adopt a team approach to ensure all tasks are completed in a quality, timely and accurate manner.
- Actively contribute to a positive, productive and cooperative working environment.
- Actively participate in team meetings and performance development processes.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and support to other employees to build knowledge and capabilities across the business.
- Undertake additional duties and tasks as required.
- Additional - It is agreed this role will perform other duties as relevant and reasonable to the role and the incumbent’s skillset and at the discretion of management.
**We would like you to have**:
- ** Education - **RG146 qualified or aptitude and willingness to complete certification; maintenance of SuperCPD points once RG146 qualified.
- ** Experience** - Relevant demonstrated experience within the superannuation industry and the superannuation schemes administered by Mercer.
- ** Knowledge and skills (general and technical)** - Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to the superannuation industry.
- Outstanding communication, active listening and customer service skills with the willingness to go the extra mile.
- Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness in the pursuit of a solution.
- Computer literacy and capacity to use online information systems.
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to hold a conversation and interact with our members.
- The ability to produce well written correspondence.
- Previous experience in financial services and/or superannuation industry would be well regarded but not essential.
