HOBAN Recruitment are currently sourcing an experienced Principal Policy Officer to join our client, who is a State Government Agency.

The Principal Policy Officer is a team leadership position, which will be responsible for working with internal customers to model and document current and future state business processes and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Based in Brisbane CBD
- 12-month contract, possibility of extensions, pending business requirements
- AO7 - $74.99 per hour + superannuation

**About the role**
- Provide timely and authoritative advice on complex policy issues
- Recommend policy and legislative options that will lead to the optimal and responsible use of Queensland's state land resources.
- Develop, manage and/or oversee projects, including consultation with stakeholders.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of complex reports, policy submissions, briefing notes, legislation, presentations, speeches, publications, and correspondence.
- Work collaboratively and negotiate with colleagues and with other levels of government, industry, and non-government organisations to achieve policy outcomes.
- Represent the Department at State/Commonwealth conferences, internal/external meetings and committees and inter-departmental and inter-jurisdictional working groups.
- Flexible working arrangements will be considered.

**About you**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Experience in the leadership of research, development and progression of issues and discussion papers for public consultation and government approval processes will be well regarded.
- Adaptable in communication style, approach, and attitude
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with team management
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
