**The Opportunity**
Melton City Council acknowledges the fundamental role that Libraries and Arts play in the making of a vibrant and culturally rich communities. We are experiencing transformation and have a few new exciting opportunities for the role of Library Customer Service Officer, reporting to the Team Leader Library Hub in the Libraries and Arts service unit. In this role you will play an important role in delivering priority areas for Melton City Libraries as envisioned in _Creative Melton 2030_. These include:
- Ensure customers have a positive experience in our Library and Learning Hubs by delivering high quality customer service.
- Support the learning outcomes of residents by assisting in the use of resources, technology and online library platforms and delivering literacy and learning programs.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Deliver high quality customer service at library facilities or outreach points, ensuring customers have a positive library experience characterised by active engagement.
- Proactively assist customers to maximise their use of the library, resources, equipment, technology and online library platforms.
- Assist with the maintenance of the library collection through efficient shelving of resources, shelf tidying, updating displays and processing of item lists.
- Deliver literacy and learning program sessions or outreach visits for children and adults under the direction of a supervisor.
**About you**
**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Beyond secondary education or equivalent, with some experience in a customer service or community focused environment.
- Well-developed information technology skills with the ability to provide assistance in the use of computers, photocopiers, wireless internet access and mobile devices.
- Deliver literacy and learning programs for children and adults, and basic training in the use of library equipment and technology.
- Availability and flexibility to work rostered shifts as required across weekdays, weekends and evenings.
- A current Victorian driver’s licence and current working with children’s check.
