**Your new role**:
BAE are responsible for the design and build of nine Hunter class frigates for the Royal Australian Navy. The Hunter Class Frigate Program will transform Australia's shipbuilding industry by supporting the building of sovereign naval shipbuilding capability.
Working within the Certification and Governance team, the Certification Lead will manage and coordinate the required delivery of activities to ensure the Whole of Ship design and build certification is progressed and ultimately completed in accordance with the project contract and internal governance requirements.

**In this positon you'll be responsible for**:

- Development, maintenance and delivery of the Whole of Ship certification plan.
- Development and delivery of the project design certificates and build certificates.
- Coordination with the relevant classification society (CS) representative to ensure that CS deliverables meet the needs of design and build certification and are also reflected in management plans and planning, as required.
- Planning for the OQE necessary to support the claims made in the design certificates and build certificates, including identification of responsible teams and mutual agreement regarding when the OQE is required.
- Coordinate and liaise with project engineering delivery teams to ensure that supplier certification deliverables and tasks support the progression and eventual completion of Whole of Ship design and build certification.
- Coordinate and liaise with the project classification lead to ensure that classification deliverables and tasks support the progression and eventual completion of design and build certification.
- Manage, facilitate and coordinate the certification working groups and workshops activities.
- Support reviews of supplier contracts/procurement pack to ensure Whole of Ship certification objectives are supported.

**About you**:
You are an experience project leader with the ability to articulate strategy/ purpose and link to objectives and project deliverables with excellent communication skills and the ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences.

**As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Significant experience of design or product certification within an engineering organisation
- Experience building collaborative relationships with external stakeholders including customers
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder engagement
- Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/ or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships
- Specific project management qualifications are not mandatory but vocational/ trade qualifications or higher education qualifications in project management at degree level and/ or allied disciplines are highly desirable

**Clearances**:
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
