**About this Opportunity**
An exciting opportunity exists within Lactalis for an experienced **Regional Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager for QLD **based in South Brisbane. This role represents a real opportunity to make a difference through taking ownership of continuous improvement initiatives and programs in a fast paced food production environment where safety and quality are paramount. This role holds accountability for promoting both the cultural and system components of the safety, health and environment framework on the frontline, whilst working closely with the national HSE team across the development of the safety management system and associated suite of programs. We are looking for an ambitious and pragmatic individual who will make the role their own and role model best practice and behaviours. A strong knowledge of the legislative framework both current and forecasted, is required to ensure our management system and associated programs are aligned/exceeding the legal requirements.
This role acts a critical conduit between the national, regional and local leadership teams across both our industrial and corporate functions requiring excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate strategic goals into effective and relevant frontline outcomes. You will be a pragmatic thinker with the ability to generate and interpret reports and data to drive meaningful change, review and measure the effectiveness of controls. You will have a keen eye for risk and a collaborative and creative approach to mitigation.

We need a proactive person who is willing and able to roll up their sleeves and get the job done. To ensure success in the role, the successful applicant requires the below toolkit:
- Tertiary qualification in Safety (Diploma OH&S) and at least 5 years relevant HSE management work experience in in a similar size company
- Return to Work Trained - for State or Territory you are based;
- Ability to effectively engage with blue collar employees and leadership
- Conversant with current OHS and Worksafe legislation
- Aware of environmental requirements and restraints
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
