**Position Description**

The Merchandise Planner is responsible for the building and forecasting of financial and inventory plans, and using strong analytical skills to ensure achievement of healthy sales, margin and stock levels.

Reporting to the COO and managing 2 direct reports, the Merchandise Planner will help manage product lifecycles from launch through to clearance strategy as well as build replenishment models for core assortments.

**Duties and Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop seasonal and monthly sales, markdown, gross margin, inventory and turn plans at a seasonal and monthly level.
- Monthly and weekly reforecasting to support accurate performance in order to identify risks and opportunities, and optimise sales and inventory.
- Assortment planning to optimise SKU count and productivity.
- Build and maintain accurate replenishment models to ensure optimal inventory in core styles. Ensure replenishment orders are placed.
- Provide replenishment forecasts to vendors/suppliers to reserve production runs.
- Seasonal review of core assortment to recommend additions and deletions.
- Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, seasonal and annual reports to provide insights and recommendations.
- Prepare pre market analysis for Purchasing Officers to properly project seasonal buys.
- Post-seasonal review and performance analysis.
- Generate and execute allocation plans that help drive sales and maintain optimal stock levels across all channels (store + online).
- Identify unique allocation requirements and trends by location - manage and maintain store and channel profiles.
- Ensure all product is allocated in a timely manner with appropriate stock levels and size runs by location.

**Skills and Experience**:

- 3+ years previous Merchandise Planning experience in a retail environment
- Tertiary degree in finance, business, merchandising or related field
- Advanced skills in Excel
- Demonstrated experience in reporting and analysis
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent communication skills
- An eye for detail with a can-do attitude
