Key Responisibilities Include
- Whilst the role involves training and operational supervision, each supervisor is also responsible for performing a broad range of simple to complex pre-analytical procedures consistently and accurately and maintaining competence in the operational aspects of the Central Specimen Reception unit.
- High level leadership skills and a demonstrated willingness to succeed and work cohesively and show initiative in the workplace.
- Develop collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and team members and ability to communicate effectively.
- Act as a resource person for both internal and external clients to meet and exceed expectations through a highly developed customer focus.
- Experience dealing with a variety of people and a high level of awareness of impact of the individual on the overall customer experience.

Key Competencies
- Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use computerised systems
- Experience in pre-analytical processes and excellent troubleshooting abilities in a large and complex specimen reception unit.
- Demonstrated ability to arrange in-service training and continuing educational programs for Specimen Reception staff and delivery of training programs for changes in Standard Operating Procedures or equipment.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively in a highly process driven environment with competing priorities.
- Ability to plan and prioritise to effectively manage the customer service function in alignment with the overall strategic plan of the Department.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- Nil mandatory qualifications are required for this role although a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or Certificate III Pathology or ability to gain this qualification is desirable.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
