Supervisor Training & Assessment Contractors - Wanted (Cert IV Qualified)

This is for a bespoke contract delivering oversight and accreditation to training evolutions by an industry SME. Your role will be to provide evaluation and monitoring of the SME's training progress, pre, during and post course, including the assessment against developed curriculums and evaluative processes as required.

The SME trainer will not be formally T&A qualified but does know in great detail the delivery of the SME knowledge in accordance with the industry guidelines, therefore that trainer cannot determine assessment outcomes and must work under the supervision of a trainer/assessor who does hold the required qualification... that's you.

You should have currency in vocational training and learning that also encompasses having current skills and knowledge todeliver in the adult vocational education environment. Expert knowledge in your field is required to provide the supervision, not the SME input to learning outcomes.

The SME is able to instil confidence and genuine interest in those learning, they will provide expansive knowledge, passion, and confidence in the topics required and you will be working with them to help nurture and bring out the best in their trainees.

Communication skills - essential, this is where the best trainers and assessors come into their own as supervisors. Clear and effective communication is really going to benefit your role.

You will need to be able to spot the range of abilities and learning styles of both SME and their trainees, use your methods of communication effectively.

Empathy and understanding - not all SMEs and trainees are confident when it comes to being watched in their work. They may be perfectly capable when left to work under their own steam. But doing that job or that specific task under a pair of watchful eyes is completely different.

Effective time management
- aim to set a good examples for your SME and their trainees, as well as manage your own workload efficiently.

Calm and able to work under pressure - observing, adding timely value to the process, assessing ongoing development..... this will need you to be able to deal with a host of situations.

You will have time constraints to complete your own tasks, as well as ensure your SME and trainees do their best work within deadlines too. But staying calm, even under pressure, will benefit all aspects of your work, and those around you.

Innovative and highly adaptable - an ability to recognise different levels of skills and experience, and to be able to adapt learning processes and advice with resources, materials and teaching styles to allow for differentiation of learning abilities. If you are adaptable enough to change your plans whilst still delivering the best training and assessment practice for all parties, then you are well on your way to becoming a great trainer and assessor supervisor
