For DWF's high profile Risk team, we are seeking to recruit a specialist Work Health and Safety Consultant to be based in our Brisbane office.

This role offers a unique opportunity for a WHS practitioner looking to break away from traditional safety roles. DWF Risk works closely with the DWF Legal team, with regular exposure to the legal side of the WHS profession.

**Main Duties**:

- Conducting investigations into workplace injury events, workers compensation claims
- Interviewing injured workers, workers compensation claimants, witnesses, managers and co-workers in relations to incidents and claims
- Taking witness statements
- Conducting / facilitating risk assessments
- Developing documentation (e.g. risk assessments, procedures, policies, COVID-19 plans, WHS management plans and manuals)
- Researching WHS issues, legislation, cases, emerging issues
- Writing reports, compiling documents,
- Reviewing, amending or developing WHS management systems and documents

**What we are looking for**:
**Skills and Competencies**:

- Minimum OHS Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice
- Investigation skills and experience e.g. conducting ICAM investigations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of WHS management systems i.e. ISO 45001

You will demonstrate technical and commercial expertise and deliver excellent results and client service for clients within required time frames, in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in the role you will be a motivated self-starter and be prepared to take ownership of matters and foster relationships with clients. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be key to success in this role.
