**The Opportunity**
This newly created role us tasked with supporting the ‘Financial Systems Accounting (FSA) Manager’, whom this role reports into. The FSA Manager is a highly experienced local government professional who is leading Councils transition to TechnologyOne CIA, this position will support the project but also assist with BAU activities. This position has no direct reports.
The purpose of this position is to ensure the seamless utilisation of Councils’ financial systems to provide timely information and business processes to support effective decision making. You will assist in driving an innovative approach to automate processes and functions.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Make ETL adjustments between TechnologyOne CiA and the systems which interface, such as Pathway, InfoCouncil, whilst ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial data, so that the finance systems can be confidently used in the decision-making process.
- Assist with;
- the development of financial data analytics capability across Council aligned with ICT Strategy.
- organisational training and capability uplift on financial system processes and procedures.
- the design, development and implementation of new or upgraded finance systems to ensure seamless integration with other finance systems and business processes.
- developing organisational financial reporting capability across directorates.
- the implementation of framework including governance, policies and procedures to ensure reliability of Finance systems integration to subsidiary and external systems.
- Work across various different systems and identify ways to automate and streamline processes using a technology-based approach.
- Provide advice in finance systems, maintaining good knowledge of developments and best practices, whilst proactively exploring options to improve productivity.
- Ensure readiness and accuracy of financial figures in preparation of Council’s Delivery Program, Annual Financial Statements and Quarterly Review preparation.
- Communicate clearly and collaboratively with:
- prominent users of financial systems to maximise optimal utilisation.
- vendors, so that they understand Council’s expectations of the financial products and how we require them to work for us.
- Staff across Council, but mainly the Finance, ICT, Governance & Procurement teams.
**About You**
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or IT with finance focus.
- Previous experience working in a Financial Systems or Financial Accounting role.
- Local Government Finance experience is highly preferred.
- Experience using the TechnologyOne Ci and/or CiAnywhere platforms is highly preferred.
- Good working knowledge of computerised accounting systems and the integration points between different finance modules.
- Good general understanding of Financials, Supply Chains, Assets and Payroll processes.
