What’s the job?

Reporting to the Library Support Coordinator, the Library Technician is responsible for deliver high-quality library services and resources to students and staff in a face-to-face and online environment.

Day-to-day accountabilities:
- Assisting users with locating and accessing library resources, including books, journals, electronic resources, and multimedia materials.- Providing circulation services, such as checking out and returning materials, processing holds, and resolving circulation issues.- Maintaining the library's physical and electronic collections, including shelving, inventorying, and weeding materials.- Processing new materials, including cataloguing and labelling books, journals, and other materials.- Assisting with interlibrary loan services, including processing requests and delivering materials to users.- Providing technical support to library users, including assistance with computers, software, and other technologies.- Provide individualised and cohort-based academic coaching to students- Collaborating with the team to develop and implement library policies, procedures, and services.- Participating in library outreach and promotion efforts, including designing displays and creating promotional materials.

This is a permanent full time role based in Melbourne (Flinders Campus).

Who you are- A Diploma of Library Information Services or equivalent is required for this position, along with relevant library work experience.- Sound understanding of usage and collection of data and be able to maximise library services accordingly- A passion for delivering the best experience to students- Demonstrated reporting skills (desirable)- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
