About us The Queensland Fire Department (QFD) provides fire prevention, preparedness and response services to fire in the built and landscape environments, as well as scientific and specialist capabilities to Queensland communities. The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and provides a number of functions supporting community safety outcomes. The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), as well as the broader department which work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on Queensland communities and support our large volunteer membership across the state. The QFD is an organisation that is focused on reframing the department's relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations through the Path to Treaty, Closing the Gap and building our cultural capability. Purpose of the role The Financial Operations, Alarms and Systems Support branch manages all activities relating to QFD accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate cards, banking, debt recovery, alarm monitoring financial activities, Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and financial systems help desk support. Reporting to the Senior Project Officer, you will be a key member of the team responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of financial operations for corporate card and travel allowance, accounts payable and receivable, ExpenseMe pro and SAP finance systems. You will provide help desk services, training, advice and continuous improvement recommendations, including to support state and regional staff to ensure they comply with departmental policy and procedures for financial best practice and standards. Key requirements Highly desirable requirements - Experience in a helpdesk environment supporting end-users of a finance and travel management systems. - Working in SAP ECC previously for payment management and reporting. Your key accountabilities Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to: - Provide financial helpdesk support and advice to frontline officers and staff relating to best practice processes, user functions, including access rights for ExpenseMe Pro and SAP finance systems. - Support users to resolve system issues and/or escalate to ensure consistent delivery of business system management services. - Assist with providing content knowledge and advice for training and user acceptance testing to ensure product and services meet client and stakeholder needs. - Contribute to sound financial and business administration functions, including revenue and expense management to ensure governance and compliance of departmental policy, procedures and standards. - Prepare monthly reports and reconciliations for finance, corporate card and travel allowance systems and ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness for reporting requirements. - Provide support services in the development of financial training resources, web page updates, and accounting support activities, including recommendation for solutions to improve user experience. - Assist with the review, development and implementation of systems, financial practices and procedures to support continuous improvement initiatives.
