This is a rare opportunity for an experienced and passionate Payroll Manager to lead the payroll operations team and drive exciting people centric projects across MFG. More About The Role;
Manage our amazing Payroll Team;
- Reporting to the Head of Payroll, this role will be a hands-on position responsible for leading the Payroll Operations Team to perform the timely and accurate processing of pay runs, ensuring compliance with applicable awards and legislation.
Operational/Statutory;
- At an operational level you will ensure the Group meets all its statutory obligations with the Australian Taxation Office and State Revenue Offices; and
- As part of a continuous process improvement focus will develop payroll processes, ensuring best practice adherence
- Supervise out-of-system processes such as Government and Company Paid Parental Leave, WorkCover, Higher Duties, Incentives, Top Up payments, and overtime calculations;
- Process month and year-end, including period close in Preceda, issue Income Statements, calculate and lodge Payroll Tax and Super, and calculate WorkCover actuals and estimates;
Projects
- Take part in and lead some exciting compliance and transformation projects across the business
More About You
- You will have proven experience as a Payroll Manager, leading a high-performing team.
- You will have a continuous improvement mindset, always seeking ways to enhance the customer and internal Team Member experience; with a focus on always creating best practice.
- With over 2500 employees you will have come from a large scale, complex payroll environment with experience in a similar size matrix organisation;
- With a substantial track record in Payroll Management you are looking for your next role to include interesting and challenging projects, a company who is invested in the success and improvement of the payroll function and a collaborative team to work with.
- You will have experience working with retail and other award and legislation interpretation for example sound understanding of the General Retail Industry Award 2020; Exposure to the Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020, Road and Transport Award 2020 and Clerks - Private Sector Award 2020, (preferred)
- Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, at all levels within the Group;
- As a Payroll Manager you will be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of Long Service Leave, Worker's Compensation, PAYG, Payroll Tax and Superannuation Guarantee legislation and regulations;
- Retail experience is preferred but not essential; and
- Experience with Preceda and HumanForce is advantageous.
