**About us**

The Aboriginal Employment Team (AET) sits within the People and Workplace Services business unit and is responsible for the development and delivery of the department's Aboriginal Employment strategy and associated talent programs.

AET provides ongoing support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Aboriginal) employees and manages a range of Aboriginal employment initiatives. The AET also contributes towards the innovation of new programs and policies to strengthen career development and cultural diversity and inclusion across the department.

**_ This is a prioritised role for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, who will be given priority consideration as per the special measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010._**

**About the role**

The Project Officer is part of the AET (Aboriginal Employment Team) and contributes to the development to new programs and continuous improvement of existing programs. The Project Officer will assist in effectively implement and coordinate efficient project administration programs including facilitating Expression of Interest processes and developing program guidelines.

Reporting to Senior Advisor AET, you will also be required to provide ongoing project and administrative support in assisting in the delivery of projects that are culturally appropriate and responsive, as well as promotion of all Aboriginal Justice updates across the AEN (Aboriginal Employee Network). Additionally, you will be responsible to coordinate delivery of the annual Aboriginal Employee Network Conference.

This role involves occasional travel within Victoria.

**About you**
- A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community and the issues impacting on it.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
- Demonstrated experience developing implementing and coordinate efficient project administration systems and processes.
- Demonstrated experience supporting business and finance processes and operations or ability to rapidly acquire skills.
