The Trade Strategy Manager along with theTrade Marketing Director leads the strategic function for the Trade Marketing team will be responsible for contributing to development of transformative strategic thinking and ideas across a diverse range of brands and businesses within News Corp Australia. This role collaborates with teams across the company to ensure these strategies connect & drive key stakeholder programs with an emphasis on bringing everything to life in the most innovative, impactful way. The Trade Strategy Manager has a strong understanding of trade marketing and is able to address these needs through strategic advice, data and insights. This role contributes to strategic leadership and direction and takes action to build relationships with relevant internal & external stakeholders.

**What’s the role?**
- The Trade Strategy Manager will work closely with the Content & Strategy Director and the National Head of Trade Marketing to develop strategic business plans for the business, and support them delivering on these plans.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Trade Marketing team works cohesively and collaborates with the sales team to manage portfolio growth and deliver long term value.
- Contributes to consistent high quality output by the Trade Marketing team through strategies, business plans and initiatives by catering to the unique requirements and ways of working for each function.
- Responsible for the team's ability to identify opportunities to better collaborate, innovate and pioneer the way forward.
- Responsible for contributing to effective day-to-day systems and processes that manage workload to deliver required outputs of the Trade Marketing team from end-to-end.
- Responsible for the Trade Marketing team accurately adopting and adhering to the strategy and communication frameworks, style and brand guide and advising on day-to-day challenges as they arise.
- Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, coaching and support of your team including timely and regular feedback to direct reports.
- Responsible for fostering a high performance environment ensuring the team has clarity on strategy and key objectives and where they are responsible for deliverables.
- Embody, embrace and ensure the team's adoption of News Corp values and Newsamp behaviours. Strive to go above and beyond.
- Contribute to building and delivering the Newsamp position in the market.

**Who you are**
- 8+ years media/marketing experience with an intimate understanding of the media landscape. Ideally with previous experience in a Strategy role
- A critical thinker with the ability to simplify the complex, formulate well-structured opinions and develop interesting ideas
- A confident decision maker who can lead projects and proactively identify opportunities for clients and the business
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to develop and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, continuously exceeding their expectations
- A positive and proactive mindset that embraces a collaborative culture of learning and knowledge sharing
- Willingness to collaborate and draw in experts when needed
- Positive, articulate and an outstanding creative problem solver
- Research skills, both formal and wild
- Ability to tell a compelling story through data business context and human behaviour
- Willingness to be a hands on and a team player
- High level of EQ which allows you to develop strong working relationships within to business
- Professional, ambitious and keen to develop the business profile through outstanding work.
- Strong, up to date, media landscape knowledge (confidently able to articulate macroeconomic and consumer trends and forecast challenges/opportunities.
- Inspiring communicator with clear written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the patience to examine detail and create solutions.
- Collaborative and astute - able to build trust and respect within a network.
- First class negotiation skills
