**Career Medical Officer (CMO) - Emergency Medicine
Western Health's Emergency Departments are modern departments servicing the broader community of Melbourne’s inner western suburbs. We see patients of all age groups, and provide all ranges of Emergency Department care. Together we have approximately 110,000 adult and paediatric presentations per year.

Our Emergency Departments have attached, Short Stay Units providing extended emergency management for patients requiring short term observation and treatment for up to 24 hours. There are high acuity presentations with access to critical care services (ICU and CCU) including cardiac cathlab, oncology and stroke service. There are also paediatrics and obstetrics and gynaecology services, with the Joan Kirner Womens and Childrens Precinct located at Sunshine Hospital.

There are 32 EFT of Emergency Physicians across the campuses, and together the Departments are responsible for the supervision and training of nearly 120 EFT of Registrars, SHOs and HMOs, both in training and non-training with ACEM.

This position would be ideal for a Registrar who has chosen the emergency medicine pathway without the desire to complete the Fellowship examination. This role is based at Williamstown Hospital, however work at other Western Health Emergency Departments may be required. This position reports directly to the Clinical Lead of Emergency.
- current Advanced Life Support certification
- minimum of two (2) years emergency medicine experience in a Registrar level role
- completed at least 4 years post graduate degree
- recent clinical experience of no less then then two (2) years within an Australian Medical Hospital System (highly desirable)
- excellent interpersonal and team skills
- a commitment to quality patient care and safety
- an interest in adult and paediatric emergency medicine
- a commitment to CME

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Primary Medical Qualification MBBS or equivalent (MD/MBChB)
- General Registration as Medical Practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Applicants from a Competent Authority (IMG) with current Provisional Registration would also be considered
