Our Lady of Consolation Aged Care & Services is an independent not for profit company based in western Sydney. Our residential aged care campus at Rooty Hill is home to up to 300 elderly people and we provide home care services across the Western Sydney region; helping over 2000 elderly people so they can stay in their own homes. Our focus is on helping older people be as active and able as they can be, regardless of any underlying health conditions.

We have an exciting opportunity for a bus driver to join our Leisure and Lifestyle team on a permanent part-time basis; offering residents bus-trips to a range of inspiring locations and engaging activities.

There is a fair degree of autonomy in the role, as you research appropriate venues for outings, working with your team and directly with residents to plan and deliver fun and exciting bus-trips. Working to a schedule is critical in this role as you work with the Leisure and Hotel Services Manager to establish a calendar of outings balanced against events, activities and the regular cleaning and maintenance of our fleet.

The Leisure and Lifestyle team have a strong focus on resident wellbeing. The successful applicant will need to be able to adapt their work practise to a range of resident needs; working closely with other team members, providing assistance to residents and participating in programs and activities when required.

A current NSW LR (light rigid) driver’s licence, a safe driving record and a good knowledge of WHS (Work Health Safety) principles are a requirement of this role.

There are two Mercedes Sprinters and a Mitsubishi Fusio in our fleet.

The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate a genuine liking for elderly people, have experience working with people with dementia, be vibrant, creative, flexible and adaptive, and want a degree of autonomy and responsibility in a job. COVID-19 Vaccination with two boosters is a requirement of this role.
