As Assistant Director within the Communication Branch you will contribute to delivering high quality and creative communication projects and products for the department. The roles on offer involve internally-focused campaigns and projects that drive a positive employee experience and enable effective executive communication and engagement, event management, and creating engaging content for our social media channels. You will collaborate across the branch and the department, ensuring we communicate our priorities and deliverables to our staff and to the Australian public.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
There are 3 roles on offer within the Communication Branch at the EL1 level - Assistant Directors, Corporate Communication and Assistant Director, Social Media.
- The Assistant Directors, Corporate Communication are responsible for providing communication expertise to support the Executive and business areas and Employee Networks to achieve their communication objectives. This involves developing internal communication messaging and/or integrated campaigns to drive positive employee engagement. This activity includes event management, intranet publishing and collaboration with internal and external service providers. This position reports to the Director, Corporate Communication.
- The Assistant Director, Social Media is responsible for managing the department’s social media platforms, strategy and engagement with client areas to develop, schedule, monitor and measure social media activity across the department’s platforms—Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter. This position reports to the Director, Strategic Communication.
**Qualifications and Education**
- Communication degree or similar/relevant qualifications.
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in a communication, marketing or public affairs role.
