**About the role**
School Infrastructure is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
Join our dynamic team as the Community Engagement Manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in implementing strategies, ensuring effective communication, and managing stakeholder engagement throughout various project stages. Your responsibilities will span from initial planning to maintenance, demanding strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities. This role requires problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, excellent communication abilities, and offers a diverse and rewarding opportunity to contribute significantly to the success of our projects.
You will:
- Partner with project teams to develop and implement community engagement and communication strategies, plans, and resources.
- Offer expert guidance on best practices in community engagement and ensure effective communication across various channels
- Navigate and manage complex, contentious issues with confidence and professionalism

**About you**:
- Extensive experience delivering successful community consultation projects
- Proven expertise in managing community engagement strategies for infrastructure projects
- Proven track record in navigating and resolving complex issues, coupled with the ability to provide innovative solutions
- Ability to influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholder groups
- Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and meet timeframes
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ensuring the seamless conveyance of project updates, goals, and objectives, and consistent success in engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
**Essential requirements of the role**
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Community Engagement or a related discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Requires travel to outer suburban and regional locations and work outside of core business hours in the evening and on weekends.
- Current and valid driver’s licence.
- Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
