**About the Opportunity**
With a strong technical background, excellent communication and leadership skills coupled with extensive knowledge of Submarine systems and operations, the SEA 1450 Technical Authority will play a pivotal role in assuring the platform system design changes meet top level contracted requirements, is consistent with the certification basis, are implementable and safe to install, operate and maintain.
**Responsibilities**
Provide day to day technical direction to the LOTE (SEA1450) program as deputy to the Technical Director, including but not limited to:
- Review and approval of SEA1450 design documentation including technical reports, models, drawings, change notices and deviations to the LOTE Mission System FBL and ABL (& Certification Basis) in accordance with ASC process and assigned delegations.
- Providing technical direction across SEA1450 to ensure a fully integrated and balanced design which meets requirements and complies with the certification basis.
- Representing the Technical Director in SEA1450 Program Working Groups to facilitate CCSM Enterprise alignment and input into the design when required.
- Deputising for the Technical Director in the Engineering Change and Contract Change Boards to assure impacts to the approved SEA1450 program baselines are appropriately managed.
- Provide technical direction over Whole of Boat design activities (signatures, margins, performance, Technical Performance Measures etc) to ensure consistency with the SEA1450 design and a holistic and integrated CCSM design baseline.
- Provide governance and direction over the development of Certification Basis CCPs.
- Maintain awareness of all LOTE design activities, proactively identify and resolve technical issues and emergent risks as required.
**About you**
- Formal engineering qualifications sufficient to satisfy the requirements for MIEAust with Engineers Australia in a technical discipline relevant to Submarine Platform Systems (Bachelor minimum, Masters preferred).
- Professional Body recognition to Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent), Fellow equivalent
- Training in Project Management Fundamentals (or equivalent) or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrates evidence and experience in providing technical guidance to a multi-discipline team of engineers and technical personnel.
- Proven experience, coupled with highly developed and expert knowledge of submarine design, operation, & sustainment and ability to implement
- Experience holding and executing high level Engineering Authority delegations.
**Eligibility**
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level.
