**About the Opportunity**

Based in Osborne, South Australia, you will be reporting to the General Manager (GM) Multi Class Sustainment (MCS) Class Services, working closely with the leadership teams of Collins Class Submarine (CCSM), Life of Type Extension (LOTE) and SSN Sustainment, the Head of Technical Services is accountable for ASC’s design and engineering services. This role will be responsible for asset management, integrated logistics support, SIMS and software support to achieve pre-production readiness and to ensure appropriate configuration and data management services are provided to Multi Class Services by the Nuclear and Capability Program. You are responsible for developing and delivering updates and upgrades for submarine assets provided under sustainment contracts to ASC. This includes developing design changes for CCSM In Service Support Contract (ISSC) and including the LOTE program for the CCSM (which may be supported on a deployed model).

**Responsibilities**
- Leading approximately 5 direct reports across areas including Engineering Services, Asset Management, Integrated Logistics Support and Logistics Engineering, SIMS and software management
- Provide an interface for Configuration and Data Management to ensure fit for purpose services are delivered by the Nuclear and Capability Program
- Provide technical services including feasibility studies, and system integration.
- Provide technical expertise for engineering design/planning
- Evaluate design alternatives, associated risks and trade-offs
- Report on engineering design and integration performance and compliance in accordance with Defence Seaworthiness requirements as applicable to design

**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline
- Professional certifications/Eligibility for Fellow membership with IEAust
- Significant experience in high value complex projects with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior role
- Design and upgrade experience in complex defence platforms in an engineering role (Highly Desirable)
- Demonstrated performance in developing strong, outcome focused multidiscipline teams
- Due to complex and geographically disperse environment, a high degree of stakeholder management both internally and externally is essential
- Demonstrated experience in achieving positive business and customer focused outcomes
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of Defence Seaworthiness requirements as applicable to design (desirable)
- Strategic level focus with a view to proactive interventions rather than reactive

**Eligibility**

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
