**The Role**
This role is responsible for both the WHS and Risk management within AASPO. The role is required to manage AASPO WHS activities, performance and adherence to WH&S requirements.

You will undertake inspections, assurance activities, reporting and governance activities for AASPO that aligns with Defence and CASG WHS system requirements. You will be required to provide WHS support, advice and guidance to AASPO staff, as well as maintaining AASPO WHS registers, plans, risk assessments and WHS records.

This role will also be required to provide risk governance oversight for AASPO business units including desktop reviews ensuring consistent approach around parsing, ratings, decision making, outcomes and rationale derived from risk management activities. The role will be required to Chair meetings, provide advice on the Defence Risk Tool (Predict), and maintain AASPO Risk records.
Both roles require expert stakeholder engagement and clear written and verbal communication skills.

**About our Team**
The Technical Governance and Assurance Business Unit within AASPO, is responsible for the development and management of logistics, engineering, risk and WHS governance programs, to deliver assurance outcomes for the organisation.

The Technical Assurance officer will work within a small team of auditors and perform technical audits on our Industry Partner to ensure compliance against Defence Aviation Safety Regulations. This team is also responsible for the technical assurance of Industry partner deliverables and managing corrective action reports to improve programs and increase performance.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills and be able to lead committee meetings and provide WHS and Risk advice, in addition to promoting best practices and continuous improvement. You will be committed to building and sustaining effective relationships with management and key stakeholders, including our Industry partners.
