**Position Information**:
Winmalee High School is a Year 7-12 comprehensive high school located in the Blue Mountains. It has an enrolment of approximately 800 students, including 30 Aboriginal students. The school has a Positive Education and Positive Behaviour for Learning focus, supporting students to become safe, respectful, and resilient learners. The school has a strong reputation for developing the whole child, which includes academic excellence, leadership, and involvement in co-curricular programs and opportunities. School funding is strategically utilised to support opportunities for students to improve learning outcomes both in and out of the classroom.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Capacity to work collaboratively as a member of the school's Executive team to plan, implement and review strategies, and lead initiatives in line with the school’s Strategic Directions.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal skills and organisational skills, with demonstrated capacity to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including parents/carers and external agencies.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing and supporting students with diverse needs to develop effective individual plans, and target appropriate resources to support student learning and wellbeing.
- Demonstrated capacity to implement, manage and lead effective wellbeing programs and initiatives that contribute to improved student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
