**About the role**

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Planning and Scheduling Superintendent will provide and maintain planning, scheduling, quality assurance and maintenance management support services.

This role will suit a focused individual who prides themselves on planning and prioritising and delivery of superior service to internal customers. Demonstrated experience in planning and scheduling preferably experience working within a heavy equipment planning role will assist with securing this opportunity.

**Key accountabilities will include**
- Ensuring safe work practices are employed at all times;
- Identify potential problem areas in equipment safety and reliability, devise remedies, modifications or improvements;
- Recommend, develop, and implement systems and procedures to measure efficiency of the maintenance equipment across the terminal;
- Development of people through leadership and coaching to achieve effective outcomes;
- Actively promote and be involved with implementing the processes of change in continuous improvement;
- Maintain harmonious industrial relations by encouraging employee participation through a regular consultative framework;
Compilation of and compliance to the maintenance budget for materials handling equipment.

**Experience, skills and qualifications**
- Advanced planning and priority management skills.
- Well developed leadership skills.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement maintenance management techniques.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental regulations and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results and work effectively in a demanding environment.
- Demonstrated experience in computer based maintenance management systems (Maximo).
- Experience in maintenance management in a stevedoring, heavy industry or materials handling environment.
- Computer literacy.
- Mechanical or Electrical trades certificate with relevant post-trade qualifications. Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline would be well regarded.
