**The Role**
The Industry Policy and Quality Division (IPQD) is responsible for leading reforms to enhance the quality of the vocational education and training (VET) system for learners and industry. This is through the development of strategic policy to support the quality and integrity of the VET sector; the development and implementation of the revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and the VET Workforce Blueprint; delivering the Jobs and Skills Councils (JSC) program to provide industry with a strategic leadership role to identify, forecast and respond to current and emerging skills needs and workforce challenges, and delivering a range of related industry policy and initiatives.

There are various positions available across the Industry Policy and Quality Division. We are seeking motivated and high performing individuals who will work as Program Officers or Policy Officers across one or more of the following functions:

- program relationship management
- stakeholder engagement and communications
- industry forums, events and secretariat
- VET policy development and implementation.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Reporting to an Assistant Director, responsibilities of the APS 6 Program Officers and Policy Officers may include:

- building and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including JSC(s) and VET regulators where relevant to the role
- engaging with internal and external stakeholders, such as program management teams and corporate areas, or industry stakeholders, peak bodies and states and territories to deliver program management and support the delivery of work by industry partners
- working across the department and with external stakeholders to develop policy and advice and undertake data analysis, reporting and evaluation
- developing an understanding of industry and stakeholder issues and drafting advice and briefings, including on priorities relevant to managed industry sectors where relevant to the role
- developing advice on industry-specific skills issues, as relevant to the role
- providing analysis in relation to industry-developed work/project plans, workforce strategies and strategic plans
- developing communications and engagement activities and forums related to industry engagement and deliverables, as relevant to the role
- supporting the implementation of reforms to strengthen the quality of training delivery, through policy development and strategic communications and engagement with the VET sector
- providing policy advice on a range of cross-cutting issues cross the broader VET system from a training delivery and quality perspective
- conducting research and analysis to inform policy on priorities related to quality, including identifying issues and possible solutions
- contributing to team and broader divisional capacity in industry expertise, policy, program support and/or communications and stakeholder engagement
