**Disability Support Worker wanted - IMMEDIATE START**

After school, starting with 1-2 days per week, more hours potentially becoming available with this participant, for the suitable applicant.

2-3 hour shifts, in-home activities + Social participation with already-engaged wonderful adolescent male.

Seeking: Male or female support worker who is energetic, has experience working with participants (or willing to learn), preferably somebody who enjoys water activities and staying active

About us: Home Caring Shoalhaven is an ethical and fast growing provider of NDIS and Aged Care services across the scenic South Coast, extending from North Nowra/Bomaderry to Bawley Point, covering the beautiful Shoalhaven region.

Ongoing need for more support workers: We are seeking Casual Support Workers to assist with the provision of high-quality exceptional care to a range of fantastic clients and participants currently engaged in various towns within the Shoalhaven.

Our Support Workers are home-based and utilise a mobile work model (with electronic support for administration), attracting a travel reimbursement and ongoing training opportunities, appropriate to client need.

There is scope for our support staff to work specifically with NDIS participants, Aged Care clients or a mix of both.

All Support Workers are paid according to the SCHADS award and have the ability to build their personal client-base according to what they require.

**Main responsibilities and activities may include**:

- Assistance with care in the home (bathing, toileting, mobility)
- Getting out for social engagement, activities and attending appointments (own vehicle essential)
- Assistance with household tasks (may include cleaning, meal preparation)
- Assistance with medications
- Light administrative duties (record maintenance, reporting)

**Requirements**:

- A genuine passion to work alongside participants/the elderly and to make a positive and lasting difference in their lives (essential)
- Professional or lived experience of the NDIS and/or Aged Care sectors (preferred but **NOT** essential)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (online module to be completed prior to start date)
- Qualification in Disability, Aged Care or related field (preferred but **NOT** essential)
- Experience of complex behaviours and behaviour support methods (preferred but **NOT** essential)
- Excellent communication skills, commitment to a person-centred focus and flexibility to support needs based on individual circumstances (essential)
- Resilience and compassion (essential)
- Current First Aid certificate (current or enrolled in)
- Current CPR certificate (current or enrolled in)
- Current National Police check (essential)
- Current NSW Drivers Licence & access to a reliable vehicle (essential)
- The right to work in Australia (essential)

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
