About Picnic Creek State School
Picnic Creek State School is a Prep to Year 6 campus located in the growth corridor of the northern Gold Coast. We have a dynamic and enthusiastic staff. This year has been our 'Year of Connection'. This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.
About the Role
- Responsible for a range of day to day activities that include maintenance of school ovals through regular mowing, watering and soil maintenance (refer to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines and procedures); lawn and garden maintenance, including regular weeding and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary (refer to WHS guidelines and procedures); plant, water and care for trees, shrubs, gardens; and
- Undertake general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, blowers, hedgers (as per manufacturers' service manuals) and work with our full time Schools Officer to arrange regular services;
- Assist with setting up of school events on and off site.

About You
- Horticulture experience and / or certificate is preferrable but not essential
- Weed identification and treatment knowledge
- Lawn care and maintenance planning
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Identify / plan cost effective renewal projects
- Awareness and knowledge regarding storage of chemicals and fertilisers
- Current Chemical License is preferable but not essential
- Current Drivers License
