The Maladjiny Research Centre (‘Maladjiny’) is located in Kurongkurl Katitjin, Edith Cowan University. Researchers within Maladjiny specialise in health services research, epidemiology, and evidence synthesis with a focus on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and families. With a cohort of Indigenous and international research leaders, our team delivers high impact and translational research that improves the health, wellbeing and development of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and families. The Maladjiny research team works with its associates both nationally and throughout the globe, to produce findings that are translated into practical improvement of services across all levels of Australia’s health care system.
This position will report to the Vice-Chancellor’s Associate Professoriate Strategic Research Fellow. The team within Maladjiny are a highly supportive and inclusive team of researchers and professional staff.
The Role
You will be working collaboratively in an established research team. The position will be a research support position, which will provide you with the opportunity to work with a wider range of researchers and professional staff within Maladjiny. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on a wider range of projects supporting the health and wellbeing of children and their families. This position will work predominantly support the research project “Justice involved Aboriginal young men’s experiences and views on the prevention of family, domestic and sexual violence”.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
Contribute to research activities in the successful completion of the following project: “Justice involved Aboriginal young men’s experiences and views on the prevention of family, domestic and sexual violence”.
Conduct qualitative interviews and assist in data analysis of same.
Contribute to report content and dissemination of research findings.
Undertake informal and formal training as required.
Provide support to the research team as required.
The Person
Completion of, or enrolment in, a health-related degree OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
Ability to support the development and implementation of research projects to meet the research team's needs under the direction of the Vice-Chancellor’s Associate Professoriate Strategic Research Fellow.
Able to plan and organise work tasks, good time management and meeting deadlines.
Able to organise and present information, views, and concepts in a concise, understandable, and engaging manner.
Experience in working both independently and collaboratively within a team to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency using available resources while minimizing resource waste and effort.
Benefits & Remuneration
This part
- time (0.8FTE), fixed term (12 months) position attracts remuneration of $81,614 - $90,691 range, plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
