Data Assistant, ORIGINS
The Opportunity
ORIGINS is
the largest study of its kind in Australia, following 10,000 children, from
their time in the womb, over a decade to improve child and adult health. The
unique long-term study is one of the most comprehensive studies of pregnant
women and their families in Australia, recruiting families who are receiving
pregnancy care or planning to deliver their baby at Joondalup Health Campus, as
well as families from the Joondalup and Wanneroo communities. ORIGINS is
following the progress of pregnant women, their partners and babies for the
first five years of the baby's life, and beyond, with an increasing
understanding that an individual's lifetime health and disease may be
programmed at a very early stage – while a child is still in the womb. Our
researchers are not only investigating the prevention of disease but also
looking to discover how every child and family can reach their full potential.
The
Data Assistant position plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day
operations of the ORIGINS Databank team by ensuring the accurate and timely
entry, management, and quality assurance of child health-related data across
systems.
Duties
of this role include the following:
- Scanning and entering data from health questionnaires.
- Monitoring participant completion rates.
- Maintaining databases.
- Supporting ongoing data integrity in line with research and clinical standards.
- Establishing and maintaining clear lines of communication and ensure team members are informed of project progress.
Based at our Edgewater office, this is a full-time role in an
ongoing capacity.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following
skills and experience:
- School year 12 or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- High level skills using Microsoft Office.
- Good attention to detail.
We are driving inclusion and diversity
as part of the way we work and embrace the diverse career and life experiences
of our staff. If you meet a number of the requirements (and not all), we
encourage you to submit your application. We also encourage you to address any
career disruptions (if applicable) you may have had in your cover letter.

If you meet many, but not all, of
the role requirements, we encourage you to apply. We also welcome you to
mention any career breaks in your cover letter to help us understand your
journey.

inclusion is reflected in how we:
- Support staff-led inclusion and allyship groups.

- We continually strive to measure our progress and improve where we can.
Alongside our inclusive culture,
you'll enjoy:
