Our client based in Perth is looking for a Finance Officer for a temporary period. This is a great opportunity to work within a government department

**Your new role**
As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for:

- Continuously maintains, improves, and updates the fixed asset register
- Prepares overhead allocation journals for all projects
- Reviews work in progress projects monthly
- Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office
- Reconciles the related control accounts monthly
- Liaise with project officers and managers to make sure all overhead allocations are submitted accurately
- Act as FMIS support officer and provide training to the new and current members of the finance team
- Review data submitted by ferry companies and determined the admission fees charges to ferry operators on a weekly basis
- Any other duties as required

**What you'll need to succeed**
Experience in the similar position required but also:

- Experience in systems and business process in the area of responsibility
- Excellent organisation, analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to prioritise workload in a timely manner and meet deadlines
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience using financial management information system and Microsoft office software
- Ability to work within a team environment with limited supervision
