Training and Review Officer

**Be part of Centacare's Foster Care program, which provides both specialist and general foster care for children aged 0-17 years in immediate, short term, long term and respite placements. Based in Seaton 5086.**

**The Role**

The Training and Review Officer is a Senior role and will have extensive experience in the field of child protection, comprehensive knowledge of Social Work theories, models and underpinning frameworks (including therapeutic interventions for children with high and complex needs) an in-depth knowledge of key foster carer competencies and an ability to provide expert advice to the team, whilst managing competing priorities. The Training and Review Officer has an in-depth knowledge of the recruitment and assessment process, as well as a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic care, Foster Carer training needs and development and support. The role is based at Seaton and includes travel to homes within the community.

**What you need to bring**

**Essential**
- Social Work degree or equivalent
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Understanding of therapeutic approaches for children and young people with trauma backgrounds
- Knowledge of Child Protection Legislation
- Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Placement Principles
- Extensive Assessment/Case Management experience
- Experience in working in the In Care Sector
- Knowledge of therapeutic care and trauma-informed practice
- Experience in leadership roles is highly desirable
- Ability to do some work outside of standard hours when required
- Safe Environments for Children and Young People certificate
