**About the role**
Highly regulated and driven by tight standards, Fire Protection systems are critical in ensuring life is safeguarded in the unfortunate situation of a building, structure or facility catching fire.

Within ADP’s suite of services, Fire Protection (wet and dry fire) is a central discipline requested in the majority of ADP’s contracts. Consequently, there are a large number of concurrent projects always underway.

ADP recognises that for this discipline to grow and be profitable, organisation and people management are probably more important than pure technical knowledge

This role will make a difference to our business by providing the opportunity to assist with the strategic growth of our Brisbane Engineering team and expand our engineering capability. Duties will include:

- Manage, lead, motivate, recruit and develop a team of high performing and innovative Fire Protection engineering designers and engineers
- Ensure ADP’s Brisbane Fire Protection team has the people, experience, resources, expertise and capacity to undertake assigned work and meet projected (forecast) work.
- With Resource Allocation Manager allocate work to team members projects and work within projects won by ADP.
- Ensure work load is reasonable and allows time for professional, technical and personal development
- Monitor available Fire Protection resources for projects that have been bid
- Develop fire protection specific job costing
- Hold project briefings with ADP staff involved to define project requirements and timeframe
- Throughout the project engage clients and stakeholders, ensuring expectations are understood, level of documentation is defined and other deliverables are managed against program and proposal (cost)
- Develop and implement your career management plan
- With your line manager identify improvements and development areas, agree timeframes, resources

**Experience**
You are passionate about both engineering and people, as the role will be both internal-facing with various teams and stakeholders across the business, and external-facing with clients.
- Minimum 6 years relevant professional engineering experience across the full project lifecycle and responsibility for delivering projects.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across multiple disciplines including colleagues and clients
- Ability to accept change and handle ambiguity
- Ability to exercise well-developed problem-solving skills and use substantial initiative and judgement to work independently to meet objectives
- Consistently produce accurate work without errors
- Willingness to accept and implement constructive feedback.
