Are you a dedicated and caring support worker looking for opportunities to support people living with disability?

Our clients provide support to people who live independently and in supported accommodation.

Supporting people on an individual basis may require:

- Assisting individuals with identifying and achieving their personal goals
- Accompanying people to health care appointments
- Personal care including toileting, showering/ bathing, dressing and other personal hygiene tasks
- Teaching and modelling appropriate social skills
- Housekeeping, recreation and leisure
- Assist with personal relationships, community engagement and developing social networks
- Behaviour support

**About You**

**We are looking for Disability Support Workers with**:
**Essential**
- DCSI/DHS clearances for working with people with disabilities
- Current Provide First Aid and Provide CPR training certificates
- NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate (this can be completed)
- South Australian drivers’ licence, and
- A reliable vehicle that you can use for work purposes.

**Desirable**
- DHS/DCSI Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Manual Handling training - if you don't have this currently you will need to complete this online before you start
- Assist with Medications training
- Experience in providing high level supports such as catheter care, administering intermittent catheters, bowel care and PEG feeding

**It would be great if you had**:

- A recognised qualification in Support Work or Disability Support
- Experience caring for people with disabilities that live independently

As a Disability Support Worker you will sometimes support two or three people across one day which will require travel between participants homes.

**Qualities you will bring**:

- An in-depth understanding of person-centred thinking and be able to demonstrate how you put that into practice in your work
- Ability to understand the vulnerabilities and needs of people with a disability and the issues faced by their families
- Commitment to rights of people with disabilities
- Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality and privacy
- Ability to work independently (without other support workers attending the same shift) and be confident in providing services/support to clients in their homes.
