**The role**:
We are seeking a dedicated Switchboard Team Leader to join our team and drive success in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will provide essential support and leadership to our Switchboard team, overseeing the update of local policies, health roster management, account data entry for our mailroom, and emergency testing data compilation. You will also be responsible for developing rosters, conducting disaster testing, performing safety walks and hazard inspections, ordering equipment and stationery, and managing complaints and challenging phone calls.
**Where you'll be working**:
On a normal day in the John Hunter Hospital Switchboard, we take upwards of 5000 - 6000 calls a day between 5 operators, we are the busiest hospital in our area, as well as the biggest trauma hospital outside of Sydney. These calls can be doctors, patients, patient’s families, carers, helicopter calls, and everything in between. We have a small team of 21, but there are only 5 operators on at a time. It is fast-paced and challenging at times, but very meaningful work as we are the first point of contact for anyone contacting the hospital, we set the scene for the rest of their journey that day.
