Esk Health Service is a 10-bed subacute/acute care facility providing a comprehensive range of inpatient and ambulatory care services accepting both private and public patients. It is situated approximately one hour and thirty minutes from Toowoomba and forty-five minutes from Ipswich. Esk Health Service provides varied services including inpatient care to medical, sub-acute post surgical, palliative, rehabilitation and minor paediatric cases.
Esk Health service also has a 24-hour emergency service, and our allied health team includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, along with Child Health and several other visiting services.
About the role
In this role you will support and undertake nursing/midwifery care for consumers under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse/registered midwife. Under supervision will support person and family centred, quality, safe patient care, whilst gaining increased knowledge and understanding the function of the organisation, healthcare teams and the profession of nursing/midwifery.
About you
- Knowledge of the specific health needs of Ruralpatients.
- Ability to demonstrate to follow direction and seek advice from the Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife, practicing within their scope of practice.
- Ability to work within a risk management framework and in accordance with professional standards (eg. infection control, Codes & Competency Standards, legislation & common law) which impact on nursing practice.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and manage own time to meet and exceed customer expectations, with an enthusiastic, calm and flexible approach.
- A strong understanding of the relevant standards and processes and actively identifies areas for improvement, planning and acting to resolve issues with an awareness of community needs.

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- Enrolment within the second year of a Registered Nurse program with successful completion of the first year full-time equivalent undergraduate nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 12/21 and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
