We strive to create an open, balanced and flexible workplace where people feel that they belong, can be open and honest and are supported. **About the role** As Head of Value Chain Finance APAC (responsible for VCF teams in Asia, Australia and New Zealand), you will provide our clients with optionality of products for their working capital needs and to enhance the revenue contribution of clients to the overall Wholesale revenue line. VCF is an identified accelerator for Wholesale and will position us to compete not only with other banks but also with fintechs and other non-bank financial institutions. The team focuses on being a one stop service provider for working capital, supply chain finance and value chain finance for primarily Rabobank’s Wholesale customers in the international food & agri markets (Banking4Food). The APAC region of VCF has been created to leverage resources efficiently in order to serve both regions with impact. A responsibility with impact, which you shape by listening to what our clients need The position of the Regional Head of VCF APAC will be based in either Singapore or Sydney. The role reports hierarchically into the Global Head of VCF and regionally to the Heads of Wholesale in Asia and ANZ. Following that, a Head of VCF Asia or VCF ANZ will be appointed and will report hierarchically into the Head of VCF APAC and regionally into the related Head of Wholesale either in Asia or ANZ. **Some of the key responsibilities include**: - Steering the combined regional businesses on an overall strategic basis in line with the strategies of Global VCF and the combined regions and making sure that the team is adequately staffed. - Defines and implements the regional VCF strategy in conjunction with global and regional management in order to achieve the short-term KPIs and long term strategic planning. - Maintaining an ‘In Control’ profile of the business and acting when this is not the case to remediate. Is responsible for credit, operational and reputational risks and other risks (market, legal, tax, accounting and compliance) associated with VCF assets. - Succession planning, staff development, staff engagement, staff retention, diversity and inclusion. Maintaining future fit readiness of staff and offerings by fine tuning and adjusting the strategy and profile of the business internally and externally. - Is responsible for building, improving and strengthening the cooperation with other departments. - Allocation of resource budgets to the combined regions and global initiatives and collaboration with regional head of Wholesale to deliver the strategy. - Delivering the regionally allocated KPIs as determined from the BSC for Global VCF and being a collaborative solution finder and delivery source for overall Wholesale and the Rabobank - Member of the VCF MT and Regional Wholesale MT where the person sits. **To be successful you will have** Openness to cultural differences and being able to work in a complex and matrix environment with a strong market & customer focus and having a strong personality are clearly essential for the role of Head of VCF APAC. In addition, it's important that you recognise many of the items in the checklist below: - master’s degree in International Banking and Finance/MBA or higher executive training and at least 10 years of relevant working experience in an international wholesale banking environment; - ability to interact up and down the chain and with senior most levels within Rabobank and its client base both locally and international; - demonstrated experience on a 1st line basis with some of the VCF products in terms of marketing and origination, structuring and execution, risk management, and surveillance; - Driving a strategy, business and P&L; - leadership experience in managing a diverse and inclusive team across borders in a complex, wholesale banking environment; - demonstrated track record of delivery, creating opportunity, and doing big things in a collaborative fashion; - strong experience with legal, accounting and compliance aspects of transactions; - ability to motivate, engage, empower and inspire a team of talented employees; - good command of the English language.
