**The Role**

To supervise the day-to-day operational functions within the Distribution area to assist in delivering the objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) set by the business for the operation, ensuring all OH&S and HACCP procedures and regulations are strictly followed and understood while providing guidance, support and training to all transport staff

**Key Responsibilities**
- To assist in developing and achieving agreed Distribution business plans, operational budgets and performance targets/KPI’s;
- To maintain a safe working environment, identify and control all hazards and ensure a strong commitment among staff to safe work practices;
- Ensure compliance with FTGF Quality Management System requirements, and staff trained and competent to meet requirements.
- To assist in managing day to day Distribution resources to meet customer needs;
- To ensure that agreed company policies and business processes are in place and adhered to;
- Assist the Logistics manager in overseeing all overtime worked in the Transport Department and ensuring budgets are maintained;
- Ensure all deliveries are routed in the most efficient order;
- Coordinate one off deliveries and assist with event planning;
- Liaise with customers relating to either stock or delivery problems;
- Assist in coordinating after hours support for Delivery Vehicles;
- Ensure all Transport staff are trained in duties they are required to undertake and all relevant safe operating procedures;
- Maintain and monitor vehicle maintenance and coordinate required repairs as planned and as required;
- Maintain cleanliness of all FTGF delivery vehicles in line with FTGF’s Food Safety Program requirements;
- Communicate with other departments within FTGF and attend meetings when required;
- Assist with the implementation and management of FTGF’s delivery management system technology;
**Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications**
- Knowledge of the Food Service Distributions industry
- Possess BFM Accreditation
- The ability to communicate at all levels
- Ability to work under pressure with good time management skills
- Sound knowledge of routing systems and MFG PRO
- Prior proven experience in people management
- A solid knowledge of HACCP and OH & S regulations including BFM legislation
- Good product knowledge and new customers
- Flexible and reliable
- HR truck license (advantageous), must have minimum MR License.
- Be a problem solver externally and internally
- Competency in computer based communication and information management tools (MS Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
