**About the role**:
This role is based in our Melbourne CBD office and requires occasional travel to other depots across Melbourne and Regional Victoria. A part private use car is provided with this role.

**What you’ll deliver**:

- Lead the team to proactively manage WC and IP claims to minimise lost time, facilitate sustainable return to work outcomes, and promote best practice injury management.
- Lead the team to manage and develop tailored return-to-work plans with relevant stakeholders.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across the business, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation, and to introduce positive change based on technical skills and credibility.
- Provide early, timely, customer-focused and empathetic advice to injured workers, leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Measure, monitor and seek to continuously improve the effectiveness of HSS programs and initiatives to ensure appropriate risk mitigation.
- Build a high performing team. Proactively assess team and employee development needs, make recommendations and implement appropriate solutions.

**To succeed in the role, you’ll have**:

- Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety, claims/injury management, business, psychology, or a related discipline.
- Return to Work Coordinator certification.
- Significant experience in a similar role, which could include in a similar inhouse role, or team leader role with an insurer.
- Experience in preparing and attending claims reviews and clinical case conferences to effectively facilitate outcomes.
- Deep knowledge of the Victorian workers compensation scheme, legislation, and policies.
- Valid Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across Victoria to provide face to face support to injured workers and their managers as appropriate.
