**Position Information**:
Bonnells Bay Public School is located on Awabakal land on the western edge of Lake Macquarie NSW and has a student enrolment of 400. Of these students, 20% identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders and 3% are from language backgrounds other than English. The school has 16 mainstream classes and three support classes and is dedicated to maximising student outcomes through quality teaching and learning. The school culture is that of inclusion and belonging with students, staff, parents and the wider community working together to promote school excellence.

The school has strong links with Itji-Marru, the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), the Western Shores Learning Alliance (WSLA) and a range of external stakeholders, providing opportunities for students and staff to collaborate in a variety of activities beyond the school gates. The school has an active P&C who operate the uniform shop and canteen and coordinate local fundraising initiatives within the school. Extra-curricular opportunities in sport, technology, and creative arts, enable our students to excel through a range of different experiences.

Proven ability to cultivate an inclusive school culture that supports the well-being of students and staff, effectively managing the complexity of diverse needs across the entire school community.

Proven capacity and capability to collaborate effectively with the broader school community, including the local AECG and P&C, to strengthen the school’s reputation for excellence, engagement, and inclusivity.

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
