**About the facility**
- Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. **About the role**
- Barwon Health is constructing a new Women’s & Children’s Facility, due for completion in 2028, as part of the University Hospital Precinct. This expansion will increase the maternity and neonatal bed base and provides an opportunity to review and redesign models of care—particularly around neonatal capabilities.
- As the Project Officer, you will consult with stakeholders to explore the future of neonatal services at Barwon Health, including the potential to care for higher acuity neonates and higher-risk antenatal patients. You will assess workforce needs, education, infrastructure, and financial requirements to support a new model of care for the expanded units.
- Your work will include mapping referral pathways, evaluating regional demand, and assessing capability levels. You’ll deliver a detailed report and plan outlining recommendations for Barwon Health’s future neonatal and maternity services.
