**You'll be responsible for**:

- Managing electronic referrals received via Sunrise. Managing new business requests, renewal management and the processing of endorsements and amendments as requested;
- Working effectively within the underwriting team to convert quality business to achieve profitable growth;
- Submitting ideas on how we can improve our underwriting approach to deliver objectives;
- Maximising retention of preferred accounts and review renewal and new business in conjunction with internal and external stakeholder requirements;
- Where appropriate and requested, engage face to face with local Brokers alongside distribution and underwriting staff to build relationships and partnerships;
- Underwriting insurance risks in area of responsibility, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards, as per delegated authority limits;
- Making recommendations on risks that exceed own authority and prepare escalations (sign-off) ensuring referral is accurate, thorough and balanced in terms of achieving desired profitable growth;

**Important to your success**:

- Experience in an operational, commercial underwriting role with exposure to at least a couple of annual underwriting cycles within General Insurance is highly desired.
- A passion for providing a quality and responsive service to our internal and external customers;
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to both build relationships and influence at all levels;
- Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes.
- Ability to plan and prioritise effectively with good attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
