**Your new company**

This Federal Government agency is responsible for delivering a key regional development program, with a focus on minimising environmental impact. The Indigenous Engagement Team support the agency with ensuring effective engagement and policy decisions are implemented for Indigenous Peoples. Areas of focus include access to economic and employment benefits, cultural heritage maintenance and partnerships with the Traditional Owners.

**Your new role**

Working within the Indigenous Engagement Team, you will help ensure best practice is used to engage with First Nation stakeholders, and work towards managing cultural heritage in partnership with the traditional owners of the land. This will support the development and delivery of programs which provide the best opportunity for the community to prosper.

Your duties will include managing engagement across Government to secure and implement funding, delivering funding agreements between Government and Traditional Owners, development the agency’s Indigenous employment strategy, supporting Indigenous procurement and developing goodwill/sponsorship programs.

**What you'll need to succeed**

You must be an Australian Citizen to be considered for this position, hold a valid driver's licence and will have or be eligible to obtain a Baseline Clearance.

The successful applicant will have:

- A high level of cultural competency, including understanding issues affecting Indigenous Australians
- The ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous people
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development of projects, policy documents and reports
- Demonstrated ability at problem-solving and proposing solutions
- Desirable - experience in economic development or program delivery

This role requires regularly travel between Adelaide and regional areas

A competitive hourly rate + 11% Superannuation will be offered for an initial 24-month contract, as well as the support of guidance of a dedicated Recruitment Consultant throughout your assignment. There is a strong likelihood of extension or direct employment with the Federal Government at the conclusion of the assignment.
