About the Community Safety Building Authority
The Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) has been established to design, procure, build and upgrade the infrastructure needed to keep communities safe.
The CSBA provides end-to-end project development, management and delivery of Victoria's new prisons, youth justice centres, court and custody facilities, emergency services facilities and public safety features such as pedestrian walkway bollards and CCTV networks. As well as delivering new infrastructure CSBA modernises, expands and upgrades existing facilities.
The CSBA has a highly skilled workforce of experienced professionals from across the public and private sectors that support the development, procurement and delivery oversight of major capital projects. The CSBA team includes specialists in community safety infrastructure, project management, engineering, cost management, commercial management, planning, environment and design.
This role will contribute to a variety of complex construction projects, supporting the delivery of projects on behalf of Victoria's emergency services agencies. CSBA is overseeing the delivery of a number of projects in development and delivery phases, the procurement of contracted services and products, and ongoing process improvement.
About the Role
The Project Officer will be responsible for preparing project plans, monitoring and reporting on project status, contributing to risk and issue management, establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, participating in and facilitating project meetings, and preparation of a range of project documents including business cases and support for other investment decisions (e.g. contract variations).

**You will also**:

- Prepare and review project documentation including reports, plans, budgets and briefing materials for senior management and stakeholders.
- Contribute to business cases, including writing sections and synthesising information from a number of sources to achieve cohesive and consistent documents supporting investment decisions in accordance with Victorian Government guidelines.
- Review and manage revisions to Principal Constructor's management plans in consultation with the Senior Project Manager.
- Manage the procurement activities and engagements, ensuring they are completed on time and to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
- Organise, participate in and facilitate project meetings, provide secretariat support for complex/contractual meetings and follow up of action items.
- Undertake research and analysis and prepare advice to the Senior Project Manager/Project Manager and other staff on project related matters including operational communications and consultation strategies.
- Establish and maintain the project schedules and work breakdown structure including monitoring work against the baseline and reporting on status.

About you
- Demonstrated expertise or knowledge of the principles and processes of project and site management, quality control, and project lifecycle stages.
- Demonstrated expertise or knowledge of procurement and contract management.
- Experience in Microsoft Office and use of other project management software.
- Experience in site management of trades on commercial/ infrastructure projects with a Tier 1 or 2 builder an advantage.
