- $85,000 - $87,000 + super and benefits.

**About us**
Canteen, Camp Quality and Redkite (Alliance Partners) are working together to provide Cancer Hub - a digital hub to help families impacted by cancer more easily access the practical and emotional support they need, when they need it.
Canteen is dedicated to supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, our mission is to provide essential programs, services, and resources that positively impact the lives of 12-25-year-olds facing their own diagnosis, dealing with a close family member's cancer, or grieving the loss of a loved one. We believe in the transformative power of our team, and together, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
The Intake and Assessment Practitioner at Cancer Hub serves as the first point of contact for service users and referrers, conducting initial assessments, determining appropriate care pathways, and coordinating necessary interventions, such as risk assessments and safety plans. With extensive knowledge of Cancer Hub, Camp Quality, Redkite, and Canteen services, the practitioner helps service users understand their needs and access the right support. The successful applicant for this role will bring specialist knowledge and expertise in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, recognising and addressing their unique cultural, social, and emotional needs.

- Base Salary + Superannuation + Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $18,550 of your salary tax-free).

**About our role**
- **Service Delivery**:Provide culturally appropriate intake and assessment via phone or Zoom, offering information about Cancer Hub services and tailored short-term supports with a priority focus of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families. This role will also work with non Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families aswell.
- **Community Engagement**:Build strong, respectful relationships with community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community groups, to ensure young people and families access culturally informed support across the country.
- **Team Collaboration and Program Development**:Collaborate with Cancer Hub and Alliance partners, to ensure services reflect the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and contribute to cultural responsiveness and safety.
**About You**
- Appropriate formal qualifications in the field of Health, Social and or Behavioural Sciences and/or:
- Relevant work experience in a similar role with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
- Current Working with Children Check and a willingness to undergo National Criminal History Police Clearance.
- Experience in providing support and advocacy for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients and families and maintaining positive relationships with the local community.
- Critical understanding of how colonisation continues to impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today including the barriers to access that manifest in the systems of Australia
- A deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural ways of knowing, being and doing and understanding the need to prioritise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander views of health and wellbeing.
- An understanding of, or experience in, effective case management practices including proactively managing risk of complex individuals
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safety plans inclusive of mental state, suicidality, self-harm, violence, child protection and risk of harm to others.
