**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our Global Energy Management and Sales (GEMS) ANZ business, the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group.
The Chief Operating Officer will ensure the smooth operations of the GEMS ANZ business, ensuring all risk and support functions are operating at optimum levels and in collaboration with local and global teams.
The role will be accountable to the Chief Operating Officer (CEO) GEMS ANZ and can be worked flexibly from home and our new Southbank office.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop, implement and embed processes and frameworks to ensure the effective service delivery by risk and support functions including finance, risk control, information technology, compliance, human resources, internal control, legal and regulation.
- Develop and negotiate a service level agreement with risk and support functions to ensure interface of relevant systems within GEMS ANZ and support services from ENGIE ANZ are effective and efficient
- Contribute to the governance of GEMS ANZ systems
- Develop and provide reporting structures and develop standard operating processes for the system’s performance analysis
- Provide project management expertise on GEMS ANZ projects
**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will have sound knowledge of markets and risk management (market, credit, legal, operational and regulatory) and experience with overseeing the operations of the functions required to run a trading and portfolio function.
You are able to create an environment where people and teams are motivated to do their best to collaboratively achieve business objectives, and seek for continuous improvement in process, systems and procedures.
Ideally, you will have solid experience within energy management and/or corporate & investment banking, particularly with a background in risk or finance.
