**Job location**

This position is located at the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) in Clifton Hill, 15 minutes from Melbourne's city centre. CFMHS is a specialist state-wide agency that works with individuals who have a serious mental health illness and have offended or are at risk of offending.

The role requires travel to various locations across metropolitan Melbourne and Cherry Creek Youth Justice precinct (Little River)

**About the Role**:

- This role has two discrete components; facilitating reflective practice and suicide, self-harm (SASH) and mental health training for Youth Justice custodial staff.The Youth Justice trainer component of the role will be situated within a small team of training facilitators providing SASH and mental health training to Youth Justice custodial staff. The Youth Justice staff is inclusive of floor staff, the safety and emergency response team, the behavioural support staff and other stakeholders as contractually required by Department of Justice and Community Safety. The trainer will participate in the revision and further development of the SASH training and other relevant training packages as required.

**Duties**:

- Facilitate reflective practice to custodial floor staff on a daily basis within the Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct. Facilitation of reflective practice to specialist teams within the Cherry Creek precinct as deemed appropriate by the Youth Justice Mental Health Initiative (YJMHI) Coordinator.
- Participate as part of the team, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the SASH and mental health training provided to Youth Justice Victoria.
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of SASH and mental health training to Youth Justice Victoria.
- Assist in training and provide support to new training SASH facilitators.

**About You**:

- Facilitate reflective practice to custodial floor staff on a daily basis within the Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct.
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of SASH and mental health training to Youth Justice Victoria.
- Facilitation of reflective practice to specialist teams within the Cherry Creek precinct as deemed appropriate by the Youth Justice Mental Health Initiative (YJMHI) Coordinator
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of SASH and mental health training to Youth Justice Victoria.
- Assist in training and provide support to new training SASH facilitators.
- Compile statistics and reports which contribute to the development of training provided to Youth Justice Victoria

**What you need**:
**Nursing**
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).

**Occupational Therapy**
- Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia - Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).

**Psychology**
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course or equivalent, or a Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).

**Social Work**
- Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
