To join our Risk Management team we are looking for an experienced **Operational Risk Advisor **with a background in retail banking who would love the opportunity to be part of IMB’s transformational agenda and affect change, culture and behaviours and improve outcomes and awareness in risk and compliance enterprise wide.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk, the **Operational Risk Advisor** is responsible for providing risk oversight and advice to the business and projects as well as supporting the CRO in building the risk management capability across IMB Bank.

As a trusted advisor working across the business and supporting key change initiatives, we are looking for a commercially astute risk professional with an ability to work closely with the business to solve sometimes complex business challenges and assist in embedding the Three Lines of Defence operating model through:

- Supporting IMB’s risk policies, practices and risk systems and helping promote, inform and coach all staff in positive risk culture practices
- Facilitating enhancements to the quality of risk registers and the constructive review and challenge of business unit risks and controls
- Collaborating with business owners/managers, control assurance and other risk specialists to embed and enhance risk and controls assessments
- Identifying IMB’s risk profile and assessing exposure to these risks relative to the Board approved Risk Appetite
- Providing change support and decisioning for projects and other change initiatives namely: reviewing/input/challenging business impact assessments; project risk and control assessments; business requirements; test coverage/results; implementation planning; operational readiness assessment and go/no go decision; transition to BAU and post implementation reviews/outcomes
- Regular risk monitoring, analysis, insights and reporting.
- Operational risk and control principles of retail banking processes
- Prudential and regulatory requirements, industry developments
- Analysis, an investigative approach and effective problem solving skills across risk and control assessments and business processes
- Resilience, candour and persistence to work through difficult problems with systems and processes to achieve the most appropriate solutions and business outcomes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills allowing for effective engagement, collaboration, facilitation and influence with various stakeholders and internal customers.
