Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.

Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this, we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Head of Libraries (ongoing teaching contract with initial three-year position of responsibility) to commence in January 2026.

The Head of Libraries is an important position of responsibility within Chairo’s management structure, assisting the Executive Principal by leading Christ-centred library innovation across all campus libraries.

As a respected teacher and librarian, the Head of Libraries will provide professional leadership to library staff members whilst fostering an environment conducive to a love of reading and critical engagement with literature. They will lead by setting a godly example to all staff members and students in their teaching and administration practice, relationships and lifestyle.
- Active Christian lifestyle and demonstrated agreement with Chairo’s Statement of Faith
- Post-graduate qualifications (desirable)
- Experience in an educational and/or library leadership position
- Sound knowledge of current educational practices and teaching from a Christian worldview perspective
- Thorough working knowledge of library services within a school environment and how the library supports teaching and learning objectives
- Understanding and current knowledge of literacy, curriculum and information skills, including trends in literature and digital literacy
- Ability to build strong partnering relationships and communication channels with all members of the school community
