**About the role**

Let your voice be heard and make a positive impact in the lives of young people. We have multiple Casual openings for those aged 16 to 25 to join our MercyCare Youth Reference group and influence how Mercycare do things

The purpose of the YAG member is to provide advice and guidance on matters that impact young people utilising Mercycare services, to ensure we are improving the way we engage with young people. You will collaborate with our passionate, supportive (and did we mention fun) Mercycare leaders and staff to ensure the voices and perspectives of young people are heard and considered across all aspects of the business.

The YAG meetings take place once a month (food and drinks provided) and will require approximately 2 hours of members time at our beautiful West Perth location, which is wheelchair friendly, has a gender-neutral bathroom, and is easily accessed by public transport. Options to attend online if needed will also be considered. We aim to be as flexible as possible for our YAG members considering busy periods in your life, such as exams or cultural holidays.

**About you**

As an enthusiastic young person between 16 and 25 driven to make a positive impact in your community and Mercycare, your voice and passion is super valuable to us You may have personal experience accessing youth, mental health or multicultural services or simply have an interest in youth engagement and a willingness to share ideas. Mercycare will support and empower you to build your skills and confidence to contribute fully in the group setting, provide training and even provide a certificate upon completion

You will also have:

- The ability to commit to attending monthly meetings in West Perth
- Have support networks in place that will allow you to participate in the group
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months) MercyCare will provide support and financial assistance to obtain)
- Have parent/guardian consent to participate if you are under the age of 18
