Disability Talk is an NDIS, DVA(Department of Veterans Affairs) and CHSP (Commonwealth Home Support Program) registered provider looking for a great Disability and Aged Care Support Worker who wants to join their team.

We have participants all over the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne (you can check the map on our website to see the area we cover)

ROLE:
**Disability Talk** Support Workers primarily assist our clients with the following supports:

- Household tasks
- Assistance with self-care activities (e.g. Shopping, shower, medication administration, etc.)
- Assistance to access community, social and recreational activities (e.g. drive participants to doctor appointments, group activities, etc.)
- Skill development
- Employment supports
- Assisting clients with their education and training goals

**Workers Responsibilities & Duties**
- Supporting clients to achieve their goals
- Discussing, understanding and working with the clients and **Disability Talk** Coordinators on strategies towards NDIS goals
- Collaborating with **Disability Talk** Coordinators in creating shifts and keeping participants' documents updated
- Recording evidence goals are being achieved in the **Disability Talk** online system
- Reporting on goals using the functions of **Disability Talk** online system
- Encouraging an environment where the client exercises choice and control
- Inclusion - where possible, ensuring activities are held in a location, time and with others, just as it would be done for someone without a disability.
- Creating stimulating activities that drive from what client wants, but also bringing new ideas and options.
- Learning and capacity building - supporting client to try new things, new experiences, being exposed to new information that lead to new skills, abilities, knowledge and positive behaviors.
- Work with clients, family/ carers, relevant case managers and other professionals to support the client’s individual goals
- Supporting a client to develop potential to live as independently as possible.
- Community and social involvement - create activities that contribute to the client doing things in the community by themselves or with friends.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

1. Driver's Licence (COMPULSORY)

2. Car Insurance (Comprehensive) (COMPULSORY)

3. NDIS Support Worker Module Completed (COMPULSORY)

4. NDIS Screening Check (COMPULSORY)

5. Police Check (not older than 3 years) (We can provide that for you)

6. Working with Children Check (COMPULSORY)

7. Work Permit (for not Australian Residents) (COMPULSORY)

**BENEFITS**:
1. Training (whether you have a Certificate or not, we provide constant training)

2. First Aid Certificate

3. Petrol Allowance (Disability Talk pays $1/km when travelling from 1 participant to another and when the distance is over 15km. We do not pay to travel from and to emnployee's home)

5. Referral Bonus (You receive $150 when you refer a new employee or a participant and they stay with us a minimum of 6 months)

4. Performance Bonus ($500 bonus every 6 months, based on performance)

6. 1 extra week of paid leave per year

7. Supervision

Contract: P/T (minimum 10hrs/week maximum 30hrs/week): $33/hr (plus penalties)
